POLICY STUDY GROUPS
Democrats
Abroad France and other international chapters influence
policy via input for the '08 Democrats Abroad Party
platform and ultimately, the Democratic National Committee.
How? Policy groups within each country study issues
and prepare papers. When a country's working group wishes
to submit a draft resolution, platform entry or think
piece, it first gets country Executive Committee approval.
Text is then sent to the international chair of policy
groups. Theme managers then inform similar working
groups in different countries—in effect, building
a network. Currently, discussion is by email, but a
website is being developed to faciliate work.
Finished
texts and outstanding questions are passed on to the
Democratic Party Abroad Executive Committee. These are
transmitted to the national Democratic party.
